Terms Of Booking

Dear Reader,

Thank you for taking the time to book the Traditional Chimney Sweep. A family run 3rd generation sweep. Please find the following details outlining the terms of the agreement.
The call out fee is a set fee to cover time spent at the property. This is payable by cash or cheque on the day of my arrival.

The only exception to payment are chimney blockages. (Eg Birds nests, deterioration ect.) Blockages can often be cleared within the first hour and do not require an additional payment. But as blockages are unpredictable. They are charged by the hour at the rate of the set fee as I can’t know the time it will take to clear.

Chimneys should be swept once a year minimum. If it’s been longer than one year. Extra precautions and time should be applied.

While I do protect my work area and take an extremely high level of care when working with soot. I do ask that any lightly coloured soft furnishings are covered where possible. In particular, if I have not attended your property before. Or if has been longer than 1 year since its last sweep. Please have the space prepared before my arrival. If you have lightly coloured carpets. It’s important to lay down some covering on the area I’ll be walking on.

Snow or rain, making soot wet, can be really unforgiving. I take full precautions and am extremely careful. But it’s always good on air on the side of caution if you have concern. Particularly with lightly colour carpets/rugs.

As with any new customer. I cannot comment on the chimneys previous history having not swept it before. So my experience can only be limited to what I find on the day and the current state of the chimney.

The requirements of any sweep is to assess the stove, area and conditions. To engage the conditions with the appropriate equipment. To leave the area clean and tidy. This typically takes on average between 25 and 35 mins.

My arrival is between 9am and 2pm. So please allow for these times. I can sometimes add a note on the booking to arrive before or after particular times. But flexability is required as I never know what ill find at the other chimneys that day,

Kindest Regards. The Traditional Chimney Sweep
